ProfHacker suggests VoiceThread as a way to get your students talking: http://chronicle.com/blogPost/Using-VoiceThread-to-Give/26367/
I’ve used VoiceThread in a number of ways, from presentations with single speakers, to narrated PowerPoint presentations, to a virtual discussion board of a class project, where students could come in and make text, audio, or video comments. It is a great free tool that is easy to use. Check out the ProfHacker article for interesting advice and handy images. I think it would be great in a language course where your students could practice speaking in a safe environment and get to hear other class members struggling with the same issues.
